I have a tie for the top 2 that I liked. They were former Class I railroads.

ATSF, and SP were my two favorites.

My favorite Class 1 is BNSF. They have safe crossings, a good heritage, and i really like all the efforts they have made to be eco. friendly. When one of there trains goes by you never know what kind of Locomotives will be on them.

My Favorite former Class 1 is Illinois Central. they had a great railroad system and knew what they were doing. However i think they shouldent have merged with GM&O, from what i have seen, it seems like they only bought it to kill competition. After the merger they abadoned or spun off most of the GM&O lines.

My Second choice would be CSX. But I like CN a bit more.

I voted for NS only because they are the busiest track here in town. At least in this neck of the woods they seem to be on top of things with the maintenance of the tracks and of the crossings. (I also like the fact that their crossing signals are still all incandescent, even on new signals just installed a little over a year ago). :TUP2:

my least favorite is CSX, they have many unsafe crossings, they derail too much, and in the past year they have distoyed all there heritage.

BNSF, and NOT BECAUSE OF THEIR CROSSINGS(RIP old 9th St Rochelle and Division St. Verona, IL), but because of their power consists can be very cool at times.
