Worst or the Worst?

Can't have signals without railroads, so talk about your favorite locomotives, railroads and any other (non signal) railroad related stuff.

Worst or the Worst?

Post by CrossingLockdown »

Hello! This is a thread of..... Wayside Horns! :Eeeeek:

But I have two videos for you to watch, (I know I have posted one already but it is the only other one I can find) and you decide which would rather hear.

Just please don't throw wrenches in the cog by saying "I would rather hear a K5LA"

CTC's horns at least sound semi-realistic.
They/Them for me, please.

The first one definitely sounds more realistic.

I noticed the video states "the wayside horns are louder than the locomotive". I do not agree with that statement. The wayside horns sound loud because the person taking the video was standing right there at the crossing. A locomotive horn is much louder and carries a lot further than those crappy little speakers.

They never wanted the sound to travel farther than the crossings.
