I said that the portion of the line that wasn't turned into the trail remained active until the last shipper along the line stopped shipments via rail. Basically. the line was abandoned, but CSX kept a portion active because they still had a customer who was shipping by rail until they stopped. Probably because they got a better deal from a trucking company, the company folded, or they just closed that location.
In fact, this building had a spur going to it, so that backs up my claim.

Old relay case with a WRRS or GRS mechanical bell left behind on a rail trail:
