That looks a lot more like a WCH mechanical bell:

Definitely a WCH bell with that hat-like base. WRRS bells only hvae one level on their bases and don't stair upward.

If they haven't had the base replaced, that is. This bell is a WRRS mechanical bell, believe it or not. The only reason why it looks like a WCH is that it appears that the base on it got replaced:

But general rule of thumb, if it has that "stair-stepped/hat-like" base, then it's a WCH.

The base must have been replaced at some point, because I have seen this crossing in person and it is indeed a WRRS bell. Here's a video of the last train to ever pass through the crossing:

Huh, I wonder why they'd replace the base then. It doesn't make any sense.

Signals along the closed Cobram branch (last passenger train ran 1993, last freight train ran 1999).

A crossing near Cobram station: https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-35.921 ... 312!8i6656
Cobram train station: https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-35.920 ... 312!8i6656

Another one on the outskirts of the town: https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-35.925 ... 328!8i1664

Passive crossing: https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-35.925 ... 328!8i1664

Signals that seem to have taken a beating: https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-35.925 ... 328!8i1664

Another passive crossing: https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-35.925 ... 328!8i1664

These signals have been removed since these were taken. I believe the track is still intact...

Here's what that crossing had before it was torn out. What a waste.

It looks to me that the line is only out of temporary service, or something. Based on the satellite imagery, there's construction going on at the airport.

https://www.google.com/maps/@33.0012702 ... a=!3m1!1e3

The line still appears to have service to the north and the south of that crossing.

The next crossing to the south in 2013: https://www.google.com/maps/@32.989239, ... 312!8i6656

And here it is in April 2016 with car carriers parked on both sides of the crossing: https://www.google.com/maps/@32.9883349 ... 312!8i6656

Will be interesting to see what happens in this area as things progress.
