Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
This photo sphere shows that the gates for one side of the road are lowered, but not the other. Does anyone know why this happened? https://www.google.com.au/maps/@-37.903 ... 508!8i1254
The first shot shows off the Glen Huntly tramway crossing activating. The second one shows off the hinged gates lowering.

Probably when they took the panorama, it had started when they went past the right-side, and when they got all the way back around to the left side, it had lowered.TrickyMario7654 wrote:This photo sphere shows that the gates for one side of the road are lowered, but not the other. Look's like the flashing lights here have been installed for pedestrians.

Another crossing with a McK&H bell (Wouldn't be surprised if this has been replaced).

Here's an old signal hut while I'm at it...

Traffic and tram preemption lights at the Glenferrie tramway crossing. Also note the statically persevered warning thing from when the crossing had interlocking gates.

I wonder why the crossbuck sticks out like that?

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
I know I've posted this before, but it seems that the CSX S&NA South Sub has had its fair share of issues with crossing lights.TrickyMario7654 wrote:freebrickproductions wrote:Oops!

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Check out these classic 48 degree crossbucks! Interesting how they added a red outline to the crossbucks as opposed to just replacing them or keeping them the way they are, I don't think I've seen that done before! https://www.google.com/maps/@42.6699515 ... 6656?hl=en https://www.google.com/maps/@42.669996, ... 6656?hl=en

----------------------------------
I don't understand why these crossings are exempt, the line is not abandoned and its not like these crossings are on a very busy intersection or an Expressway or and Expressway Entrance/Exit or something like that.

I went further up the line (the one with the exempt crossings above) and the line becomes abandon. I came across an abandon crossing that looked familiar, I then realized that it was the County Highway Y crossing in Sauk City, Looks like nothing has really changed.
