Nice find! That is defiantly a very odd crossbuck. I don't think I've seen one like that.

I followed the line and I came across this crossing that has the same type of crossbucks!

https://www.google.com/maps/@33.1973624 ... 312!8i6656

The neighboring crossing has normal crossbucks but it does have 8'' lights. :TUP2:

https://www.google.com/maps/@33.1956109 ... 312!8i6656

I followed the line some more and found this!
And this is the other crossbuck!

Kind of odd having the crossbuck not on the very top of the post. Nothing much, I just thought it looked kind of odd.

Kind of an odd place to put the "tracks" signs.

This is a very famous rail line, having contained the one and only Billups Neon Crossing Signal.
Crossing pictures from Plant City, FL are finally here! viewtopic.php?f=13&t=2538

Grenada Railway, which runs that former IC line looked like they were going to try to abandon a lot of that trackage originally... now it seems as though they are using more for car storage. I wonder if they found some new business or were able to get someone to come back online again. Check out this crossing that was OOS and crossbucks removed in 2014. Two years later, the gates were not put back on the signals, but crossbucks were, and you can see a lot of cars being stored.

And speaking of the Stop - Death - Stop crossing...
Ugh, that font makes my head hurt!
Well, :Censored:

That's probably because the signals don't even operate anymore. The relay case was removed between 2014 and 2016!

Must've reactivated that stretch of track for car storage.
They/Them for me, please.

It's too bad there isn't a way to identify when the satellite view photos were updated. It also looks like it's possible they reopened the line over to Coffeeville for car storage also... but to do so they would have had to have uncovered some crossings that were paved over in the 2014 streetview images.

I'll have to ask...is that even legal to have standing signals that do not operate on a non-OOS line? :Eeeeek:

Yes, but something has to be done to show that they do not work (such as having the lights bagged and/or turned away from traffic), IIRC. Otherwise, I think the crew may have to flag the crossing.
