Metro, why do you keep removing Mechanical bells?!

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Here is a crossing without any form of signage with the exception of advance warning signs!

It appears that operations over this crossing are used with a track mobile so maybe that could be a reason or a contributing reason?

Very much so! However, those stop signs may no longer be there, because that does look like a very new installation at the time GSV went on by.ToledoRailfan wrote:FRA violation?

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
I highly doubt that the line is abandon, the lights at the facility are on and I can't image they would just leave those cars and that track mobile behind.ZachL wrote:I'll guess and say that this line is out of service.ToledoRailfan wrote:Here is a crossing without any form of signage with the exception of advance warning signs!

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Just because a rail line goes abandoned doesn't mean the business has to go too. They could be using different means of transportation now, such as semi trucks.ToledoRailfan wrote:I highly doubt that the line is abandon, the lights at the facility are on and I can't image they would just leave those cars and that track mobile behind.ZachL wrote:I'll guess and say that this line is out of service.ToledoRailfan wrote:Here is a crossing without any form of signage with the exception of advance warning signs!

I think it just isn't marked due to being an industrial spur.ZachL wrote:Just because a rail line goes abandoned doesn't mean the business has to go too. Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Probably true, especially because it appears that a track mobile does most if not all of the operates over the crossing, I assume that it would be flagged. I wonder if this is an FRA violation?freebrickproductions wrote:I think it just isn't marked due to being an industrial spur.ZachL wrote:Just because a rail line goes abandoned doesn't mean the business has to go too. Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Flagging may actually protect the crossing from being a violation, but I'm not so sure on that.ToledoRailfan wrote:Probably true, especially because it appears that a track mobile does most if not all of the operates over the crossing, I assume that it would be flagged.
