Looks like this WCH bell is having a issue between its level of speed and the gong itself.

Sounds like the "ding rate" significantly increased before the bell shut off.

It appears to be due to the gate mechs as the other bell does the same thing. If you skip to 2:20 in the video, the bell is ringing rather fast before the gates start to lower.ToledoRailfan wrote:Sounds like the "ding rate" significantly increased before the bell shut off.

One of these mechanical bells at this Dutch crossing is extremely flat.
Unrelated, but it appears this EBA E-bell has died, despite replacing another mechanical bell four years prior.
