This crossing is missing one of its gates.

Weird crossing
https://www.google.com/maps/@42.1803015 ... 328!8i1664
Looks like they kept the old Conrail relay case when this crossing was upgraded.

This crossing still has a GRS pedestrian gate signal.

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Kinda wonder what railroad owns that line, seeing as it has a US&S Model 95 gate mech and some Safetran 12x24s. Almost wondering if it's an NS line based on the crossing below (which appears to have NS ENS signs).NathanFromEngland wrote: Looks like they kept the old Conrail relay case when this crossing was upgraded.

A lot of NS crossings in the northeast are like that. Guess NS just doesn't feel the need to replace the gate mechanisms for pedestrian signals if they still work fine.NathanFromEngland wrote: This crossing still has a GRS pedestrian gate signal.

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
This crossing in Patras, Greece was upgraded with WABCO AL-70s.
Here is the original crossing, this one is equipped with mechanisms of unknown make or origin.
https://www.google.com/maps/@38.2462893 ... 312!8i6656
Sometime between 2011 and 2014 it was replaced with this new setup.
https://www.google.com/maps/@38.2463086 ... 312!8i6656
This is a very interesting situation, i didn't know that WABCO still made AL-70s into this decade. Does anybody know if they are still in production?

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
I'm thinking that they were re-used. WABCO split up after breaking away from US&S years ago, with the rail-related portion becoming Wabtec, though Wabtec doesn't make crossing equipment, according to their site.MapsSurfer wrote:This crossing in Patras, Greece was upgraded with WABCO AL-70s.

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
Another crossing not too far away had its WABCO AL-70's replaced by Greeces usual standard signals. Here is one of the crossings in action.freebrickproductions wrote:I'm thinking that they were re-used. There is also the rare crossing with German barriers and EBA E-Bells.

Interesting, has anybody located WABCO's last crossing install? Just curious.freebrickproductions wrote:I'm thinking that they were re-used.
