Trashy, lazy solution to signal malfuntion.

This is the most rediculous thing I have ever heard of. There was a problem in the cantilevers that caused hte signals to malfuntion. So, rather than fixing it, they cut the cantilevers off, leaving the crossing with one set of mast lights facing each direction, which is wrong.
They must have to dumbest, trashiest signal mainainers ever. If the problem was in the wiring, its now that hard to tape new wires to the old ones and pull them through. If the problem is with the lights, open them up and fix them.

Re: Trashy, lazy solution to signal malfuntion.
It's called "the cheap way".
Willing to bet they're looking to replace those signals anyways, given how they only have one pair of 8 inch incandescent lights.

They/Them for me, please.

Maybe they liked the look of the Whitney Way crossing in Madison after they removed the cantilevers there by Rodney's decree.
Thank goodness those ugly stopgates are gone now and replaced with traditional gated signals.

But really, it isn‘t that hard to freakin‘ replace the WIRES in 10 feet of metal! Why can‘t the maintainers fix the cantilevers? It just looks wrong, cheap, and ugly.

OG signal collection signature, I think.

Or even Reynolds Street in Plant City before 2008SirKrunch wrote:Maybe they liked the look of the Whitney Way crossing in Madison after they removed the cantilevers there by Rodney's decree.

Still seems weird to remove a cantilever arm only to install another cantilever on the other side of the street like that...ZachL wrote:Or even Reynolds Street in Plant City before 2008SirKrunch wrote:Maybe they liked the look of the Whitney Way crossing in Madison after they removed the cantilevers there by Rodney's decree.

That is going too far in my mind. Because they took off the arms they are dumb? The railroad probably told them to take them off. Besides there is still good protection there. This is a shortline, they wouldn’t spend more money then they need to.Brian556 wrote: They must have to dumbest, trashiest signal mainainers ever. You can have your opinion if it is a good idea or not, but calling the mainainters dumb is simply rude.

Thankfully this one is long gone, by 10 years.freebrickproductions wrote:Still seems weird to remove a cantilever arm only to install another cantilever on the other side of the street like that...ZachL wrote:Or even Reynolds Street in Plant City before 2008SirKrunch wrote:Maybe they liked the look of the Whitney Way crossing in Madison after they removed the cantilevers there by Rodney's decree.

Yea, but it still seems weird that it was done in the first place, lol.ZachL wrote:Thankfully this one is long gone, by 10 years.freebrickproductions wrote:Still seems weird to remove a cantilever arm only to install another cantilever on the other side of the street like that...ZachL wrote:Or even Reynolds Street in Plant City before 2008SirKrunch wrote:Maybe they liked the look of the Whitney Way crossing in Madison after they removed the cantilevers there by Rodney's decree.

But it was a nice crossing still.
