*originally recorded on 5-28-24*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs, a WRRS mechanical bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of Safetran 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs, an NEG electronic bell, a Safetran gate mechanism, and NEG LED gate lights.

After I caught M515 in Bell Buckle, I continued north to this crossing in Murfreesboro, missing a southbound grain (according to @EthantheRailfanner ) train in the process. Regardless, I was still able to get set-up at this crossing where, after a little while of waiting, I was able to catch CSX M648 once again.

This crossing is another nice one, and I'm definitely glad I was able to record it on this day. The signals here were installed in the early-90s by CSX, and it appears they replaced an older L&N install based on the reused WRRS mechanical bell here. In the mid-2000s, CSX replaced the bell on the closer signal (assuming there were two bells here originally) with the current Safetran Type 2 e-bell. Then, sometime between 2018 and 2019, CSX upgraded this crossing to LED. Thankfully, since then, no major changes have occurred to this crossing.
Easily the start of the show here is the WRRS mechanical bell on the far side. This bell is the last WRRS bell on the CSX Chattanooga Sub, and thankfully still sounds rather healthy. Hopefully it remains here for many more years to come, but, either way, I'm glad I was able to record it. With this video as well, I have now shot all five remaining mechanical bells on the Chattanooga Sub, and all in one day as well!
