*originally recorded on 12-29-17*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of Modern Industries 8 inch lights.
Signal on the right: 1.5 pairs of WRRS 8 inch lights and 1 Modern Industries 8 inch light.

This crossing is another extremely nice one, as it features a pair old L&N signals without any bells and all 8 inch lights! All of the equipment here comes from WRRS and Modern Industries as well, as the far signal uses an old WRRS mast while the closer signal is a slightly newer Modern Industries mast. It appears that there used to be two tracks here originally, as the grading exists for a second track, and it appears that the right-hand signal was originally mounted on a foundation that can still be seen, though it's just off screen on the right. The lights were likely re-installed on a newer mast that was closer to the remaining track after the second track was removed. The crossing also has a very middle-of-nowhere feel to it, as it's accessed from US 41 by a narrow, winding two lane road over a hill and is surrounded by a lot of tress, with it being on the side of said hill.
They/Them for me, please.

*originally recorded on 6-21-24*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights with WCH 2nd Generation LEDs.

After I shot M576, I continued on up onto the CSX Henderson Subdivision to wait for my next train. After about an hour of waiting, the signal just to my south lit-up for a northbound and, about 10 or so minutes later, I was able to catch my seventh train of the day: CSX I128 with an ES44AH leading an ES40DC for power.

This crossing certainly looks a bit different from when I recorded it back in 2017, doesn't it? In 2020, CSX sadly upgraded this crossing to LED, along with the other incandescent crossings on the Henderson Sub in Tennessee, which caused the 8 inch lights that had been here to be replaced by the current WCH 12x24 inch lights. Thankfully, the classic gateless & bell-less signals here from the L&N still stand, which is nice to see, so hopefully they'll be here for many more years to come.
