Signal on the left: 2 pairs of WRRS 8 inch lights, a General Signals Type-1 electronic bell, a GRS/WRRS gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of WRRS 8 inch lights, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.

This is another nice old L&N crossing install, though more here has been replaced than at the other crossings. However, for a true sign of age, this crossing has a gate mechanism branded with both GRS and WRRS brandings!
They/Them for me, please.

*originally recorded on 7-11-24*

Signal on the left: 2 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs, a General Signals Type 1 electronic bell, a GRS/WRRS gate mechanism, RECO LED gate lights, and an NEG LED gate light.
Signal on the right: 2 pairs of WCH 12x24 inch lights with Leotek EV Series LEDs, a Safetran gate mechanism, and RECO LED gate lights.

After M584 passed, I knew I025 would be coming through next. I also knew it'd potentially be held-up by M584 as it had to get onto the D Line with a restricting signal, but I still went and hopped on I-24 ASAP anyways. I raced on down to this crossing, and, thankfully, was able to get set-up with about a minute to spare. Here we get to see my fifth catch of the day: CSX I025 with an ES44AH leading an AC44CW on the head-end, and another ES44AH working as the mid-train DPU.

As you can see, this crossing now looks quite a bit different from how it did back when I recorded it in 2016. In 2022, CSX upgraded the lights here to LED along with the rest on the Chattanooga Sub, so the classic WRRS 8 inch lights here were replaced with the current LED WCH 12x24s. It appears the tip gate light on the far signal was replaced at some point as well with an NEG LED gate light as well. It appears that the closer signal has lost the cover to the base on it as well, strangely enough. Thankfully, the GS Type 1 e-bell and classic GRS/WRRS gate mech on the far signal both still survive, which I'm quite glad to see. Hopefully those remain around here for many more years to come.
