Stop Signs, Advance Warning, and other lights request

Talk about other non-signal stuff here. Make sure to obey the rules though.

You're probably done with this project, but if you work on it further, here are some other variations of the stop beacons that I've saved from Google Maps and Google image searches.... for similar reasons.

And here is a setup with actuated amber flashers on a railroad advanced warning sign... that flash if a train is approaching. I've included the DOT sketch-up for both methods, as well as a Google Maps Street View snap of each method. It would be really easy to hook up something like this to the crossing detectors you're already using.

If you end up doing any further work like this, maybe these images can give you some ideas. Sorry I couldn't get anything with a better resolution, but maybe it's a start for additional designs.

Looks interesting. The beacons I made were pretty simple, just to see if they could be made, and financial issues. The heads of the lights were painted all black, because that's what we have here in Arizona (with the exception of Tucson, which does use yellow heads). I do have the ability to paint the heads yellow if someone wishes to.

Anyways, here's what I made so far: http://www.rxrsignals.net/Store/Other/

Video is available too. Note that there are only 9 signals made. I do have a 10th one, but the LED burned out because the leads touched, so I've got to resolder another one. I've been kind of lazy about doing it though, but maybe if things calm down a little, I can get going on it.

That first link is interesting. Never seen a stop sign up on a cantilever like that!
