Street View drivers have a bad habit of running through active crossings.

Two from Turlock, CA.

Berkley Ave/Golf Road (somewhat in the distance, and in fact the Google car goes through the crossing just as it activates):

Re: Google Maps Scavenger Hunt
I haven't seen any photos showing the Google car "racing the gate" so to speak. Doesn't mean it doesn't happen though. At gateless crossings, there's no way for us to tell if the car didn't stop, see that the train was really slow/stopped/switching/backing up and decide it was safe to proceed. The cameras stop going when the car stops moving, or the driver deactivates it.Smjh1979 wrote:Street View drivers have a bad habit of running through active crossings.
I have seen pictures where the car is pulling up to the gas pump or going though a drive-through, but that's another story.

Apparently a lot, even though some 12"x24" lights were skimped on a little bit.
