Ha ha...actually, to be honest with you, I don't care for the 12" ones really. They are too "bug eye" looking. Stick with the 8" ones...cabman701 wrote:I can predict Rich's expression already:Andrewsaxamophone wrote:Browsing through some south/east side areas, I came across this.

Re: Freaking Awesome!
Interesting that no lamps point down the side street.
But no need with STOP sign and gates.
I hate the appearance of those lamps, but understand how they minimize snow obstruction.
Are they LED?
What is meant by "20 inch" ?

Re: Freaking Awesome!
Sometimes some people refer to 12"x20" frames as 20", and 12"x24" as 24", meaning the backgrounds (black discs) are either 20" or 24" wide.

What were the original signals!
8-1/4" lens with 16" disk backgrounds?

No, the original ones were 8 3/8" with 20" backgrounds. I meant to say 12", not 20".Robert_Gift wrote:Thanks.Smjh1979 wrote:Sometimes some people refer to 12"x20" frames as 20", and 12"x24" as 24", meaning the backgrounds (black discs) are either 20" or 24" wide.

I corrected it above.

The original "mee-mool lights" (o)=(o) (what I named them as a four year old), were 8-3/8s with 20" background disks?owensri wrote:No, the original ones were 8 3/8" with 20" backgrounds. I did not realize the disks were that large.

Something you may want to do if you haven't seen it already is check out my "102" page at http://www.rxrsignals.net/102 to learn about some of the lights, bells, and stuff. It isn't near completion yet, but you may find out some things, including the terminology of some stuff on this site.
