This crossing is located on the NS Chicago Line, the east end of the CSX Porter Branch, and the west end of the CSX Grand Rapids Sub. It is also a double crossing with Wagner Rd.

Streetview images from 2007 showing two MI cantilevers with 8" MI lights with WCH gate mechanisms and no bells.

By 2013, the WCH gate masts were replaced with new Safetran gate masts and mechanisms, and a new relay bungalow was installed.

Newer views from 2023 showing the white DOT tags were replaced and the gates were replaced with the newer style striping. Starting in early 2024 however, big changes started happening.

The northern signal. This signal had a new signals signal up and ready, but not yet activated. The "old" Safetran gate mast was still guarding the crossing.

The southern signal. This side already had the "old" Safetran gate mast removed and the new Siemens mast was operational, however the lights were still bagged up for the time being. The bell was not yet active.

There are 2 additional crossbucks on the opposite sides of the crossing from the signals. These would carried over with the new install.

2 new bungalows were seen sitting nearby. These would end going to Mineral Springs Rd. #1 to the west and 8th St. in Chesterton to the east, the latter of which would get new signals as well.

By mid April, both new masts were fully activated lights bell and all, and the old cantilevers were removed. The new signals had a slight twist to them.

The new northern signal. The twist is that these have 12"x24" frames instead of 12"x20"! This seems to be a one off thing as newer installs I found elsewhere after this still have 12"x20".

The new southern signal. Even weirder is that the sidelights on this signal are 12"x20", while the main lights are 12"x24".
