EDIT: More dead signals in Elizabeth City, NC:

Some out of service Southern Railway-era Safetran signals from the 1970s in Goldsboro, NC:
https://www.google.com/maps/@35.3729729 ... FQAw%3D%3D

Just to the west is this 2000s NS install that's also OOS:
https://www.google.com/maps/@35.3757742 ... FQAw%3D%3D

This OOS spur crossing in Salisbury, NC, features a pair of gateless cantilevers at it:
https://www.google.com/maps/@35.6422664 ... FQAw%3D%3D

Abandoned SOU branch line in New London, NC, with a pair of 70s SOU signals at it:
https://www.google.com/maps/@35.4256537 ... FQAw%3D%3D

These 70s SOU signals further east also appear to be OOS, even though the crossing is still only "used" for car storage:
https://www.google.com/maps/@35.4434986 ... FQAw%3D%3D

On a different leg of the branch, you can find these OOS 90s NS signals:
https://www.google.com/maps/@35.3982433 ... FQAw%3D%3D

Some gateless 90s NS cantilevers further south:
https://www.google.com/maps/@35.3722746 ... FQAw%3D%3D
They/Them for me, please.

An abandoned crossing on a branch line off of the S Line in Richmond, VA, that still retains a WABCO bell!

Wow. So these crossings have been sitting untouched without Exempt or Tracks Out Of Service signs all this time? CSX pulled up the tracks somewhere between 2019 and 2021.
That's sloppy, and I feel sorry for anyone driving something that requires a stop at any active rail crossing. By the book, these are still technically active without exempt/TOOS. C'mon CSX. Bag or remove the signals at least.
Well, :Censored:

Yeah. There were a few on an out-of-service Union Pacific spur line in Milwaukee, Wisconsin that were like that for over 10 years before the signals were finally removed. I think *one* of them ight have had exempt signs under the advance warning signs, but not on the signals themselves.

This crossing on another spur line was like that for a while as well, then when one of the signals was removed they added a OOS sign on a post in front of the other, remaining signal, but there appears to be *nothing* on the other side!

Abandoned crossing in Liberty Center, Ohio. It has a US&S teardrop bell! It was last used by the Napoleon, Defiance, & Western for car storage:

Going into 2013, the lights, and crossbucks on both signals are gone, and the teardrop bell remains:

Gone by 2018 unfortunately, and tracks removed by 2024.
